Quaff & Scribble

This is our first entry in what we hope will be a long running and hugely varied part of The Champagne Guild website.

Over the past 20 years or so, we have been making regular trips to the Champagne area and what you are experiencing with TCG is a passion to introduce some of the incredible wines produced in the region to a wider audience. It just isn’t viable for these small producers to go it alone in the export market, which is a tragedy for the informed drinker. Of course, this is also an attraction, as it means that the Champagnes that we do bring over are not only exclusive, but are also far removed from the usual high street brands.
Not only will you have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of taste and style from the area, but by buying their wines you will also be supporting the people at the very heart of the Champagne region. If you like, the local producers, rather than the big companies.

So, here we are in November and now that the summer has gone, it is time to be moving on to the next event in the year, Christmas. Whilst we have many good Champagnes to offer, we have selected just three as ideal quaffs for the festive season to suit all palates. Both the Gaidoz-Forget (which has so far been a universal hit!) and the Bergeronneau-Marion Champagnes are really very versatile and are ideal to drink alone or with food. Some may prefer something a little more delicate and this is why we have made our third wine a Chardonnay based one. Something for everyone!

We will be regularly updating you with information and offers and of course your feed-back is going to be very helpful to us, so please do write about your Champagne views and experiences.
